I want to move to Chicago, but I'm concerned for the safety for me and my loved ones.?

I have spent countless hours in Chicago and in many areas throughout the city and I have never been a witness to a single crime, let alone a violent crime. It is relatively easy to determine the areas of the city which have high rates of violent crime. Of course an incident of some sort could happen anywhere, at anytime, no matter where a person lives whether it is Chicago or someplace else.
